Jourie’s Dream and Sailing to Happiness
Today was an exceptional day at the “Yalla Al Sayf” activity organized by Diyaruna Association. Amidst the children’s laughter and enthusiasm, little Jourie’s eyes sparkled with indescribable joy. Her long-held dream had come true: boarding a ship and sailing the Tyre Sea.
Jourie had always talked about her love of the sea and her desire to ride a real boat, but circumstances had never allowed her to do so. Today, through a simple yet meaningful activity, Jourie experienced a dream come true. She was waving to her friends, laughing, and asking the little captain for directions, as if she were on an adventure in one of the stories she loves to hear before bed.
“I felt like I was flying over the sea!” That’s how Jourie described her experience, amidst the encouragement of her friends and teachers.
We learned about this touching moment through a story posted by her mother, in which she expressed:
“Today my daughter’s dream came true.”
Simple words, yet filled with love and gratitude, reflected a mother’s joy at seeing the happiness in her daughter’s eyes.
The “Yalla Al Sayf” activity in Diyaruna was not just a recreational activity; it was a safe and inspiring space that developed the skills of children and adolescents in creative ways, providing them with unforgettable moments of discovery, expression, and joy.
Today, Jourie wasn’t alone in setting sail…
Today, the dream set sail, and childhood took a step forward toward confidence, freedom, and hope.
