Diyarouna Association participated in a specialised workshop entitled “Reducing the risks related to violence based on the division of social roles in program design”, which was organised by ABAD organisation over four days, in the city of Tyre – Hotel Platinum, with the participation of a number of workers in humanitarian and community institutions.
The aim of the training was to enhance participants’ understanding of the concepts of social roles, socialisation, and violence based on the division of social roles, focussing on its root causes and multiple effects on individuals and society. He also highlighted the importance of integrating violence reduction measures into the design and implementation stages of humanitarian and development programs and projects, in order to ensure the safety of beneficiaries, enhance the principle of non-harm, and improve the quality and effectiveness of interventions.
The training provided a comprehensive overview of basic protection and accountability guidelines, the role of front-line workers in ethically handling violence cases and disclosure mechanisms, as well as referral mechanisms and comprehensive services for survivors. He also stressed the importance of accountability to affected persons and protection from sexual exploitation and abuse as key elements to ensure safe, just and sustainable humanitarian interventions.
Diyarna Association emphasised that its participation in this training comes within the framework of its commitment to strengthening protection approaches and integrating the principles of reducing violence based on the division of social roles in its programs, which reflects positively on the protection of children, youth and women and improving the impact of community interventions
